How it Works

   The Future Path Medical iBag™ System revolutionizes urine management through an enhancement of patient safety and economics. iBag™ combines a low-cost fluid sensor, an optional thermistor-based catheter, software, and wireless communications to create intelligent urine monitoring. 

   iBag™ enables reduced urine spills, reduced urine backup, early warning of bladder temperature increase, serving as early indicator for infection. iBag™ increases patient and caregiver confidence and independence. 
 
   The Future Path Medical iBag™ System consists of a disposable vinyl collection bag that has an innovative patented low-cost sensor in the container’s interior.
 
The iBag™ Features Include
 
(1) This low-cost patented sensor allows the system to be offered at a fraction of the cost of any current smart “clinical fluid” systems. The sensor is terminated on the iBag™ by medical snaps which begins the signal transmission when the quick fasten WiMitter™ is connected.

(2) For Future Use
 
(3) The WiMitter™ is reusable for up to two years and can transmit fill status and temperature. The installation of the WiMitter is as simple as snapping the small unit onto the medical snaps.
 
(4) The WiMitter’s base station converts the wireless signal into “IP” or Internet protocol which is time and date stamped information that can then be sent anywhere from a connected PC.
 
(5) One example of a transmission data would be a caregiver’s phone to a hospital’s Electronic Medical record.
